The Treofan Group, headquartered in Raunheim, Germany, develops, manufactures and markets biaxially oriented polypropylene film (BOPP) under the brand name TreofanŽ. With more than 40 years of experience in global markets, Treofan markets its products in more than 90 countries, manufacturing some 210,000 tons of film a year at five sites in Europe and North America.
Treofan offers its customers a consistent, high quality array of technologically advanced film products through a global manufacturing and distribution network. As an industry leader in research and development, Treofan offers one of the broadest product lines for food packaging, non-food packaging, labels and advanced technical applications in its industry globally.

Business
Botto Fila, based in Valle Mosso in the heart of the Biella textile valley, manufactures high quality men and women's woollen and silk fabrics, specialising in the innovative and high fashion segments. The company’s fabrics, sold under the Luigi Botto, Fila and Gartex brands, are used by leading Italian and international fashion houses and manufacturing companies. Traditionally one of the key operators in the woollen textile sector, the Luigi Botto group has encountered severe difficulties since 2000 due to the dramatic change in the competitive landscape and large investments that were not backed up by adequate product strategies. This crisis came to a head in January 2007 when the group was put into extraordinary administration pursuant to Legislative decree no. 270/1999. M&C acquired the operating business units of Lanificio Luigi Botto and Lanificio F.lli Fila in October 2008 from the Extraordinary Administrator, consisting of property, plant and equipment, trademarks, inventory, personnel and the related liabilities. The transaction was executed via the newco Botto Fila S.p.A., which is 94% owned by M&C.
